Maxim Trevelyan Writer, Ravenclaw The fall season is perhaps the busiest season of all for television, with many new and returning shows having their season or series premieres during that time. This article will talk about some of my favorite or most anticipated ones that aired or will air their season beginnings during the fall. First, I would like to talk about some of my favorite shows that have already premiered. If you like action and are interested in how first responders work (and have the ability to suspend your belief for 40 minutes), 9-1-1 is a show for you. It is also a couple of episodes into its second season, but it is fun and I cannot recommend it more. Also already on the TV, we have NCIS: New Orleans 5th season, a spin-off of the very popular NCIS, South Park with its societal commentary on its 22nd and Criminal Minds trailing behind with its 14th. All shows had incredibly good starts of the season and I cannot wait to see more. If you are more for paranormal, horror and sci-fi, American Horror Story is almost halfway through with its 8th season, titled Apocalypse, but I warn you, this show is not for the faint of heart. British show A Discovery of Witches is a personal favorite of mine and it even includes a relationship between a witch and a vampire, for those who are more romantically inclined. It is based on the book trilogy All Souls and it is set (for now) in modern England and France. Speaking of witches, a reboot of a famous TV show Charmed arrived to our screens on the 14th October and those with Netflix were able to enjoy another witchy reboot, this time of Sabrina the Teenage Witch on October 26th. For those who enjoy the superhero genre, Arrow debuted its 7th season on October 15th with Legends of Tomorrow following on October 22nd with its 4th. For the end, I would like to mention a couple of shows that we do not know the exact airdate of yet, but I am still really excited for. Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman fans will be happy to know that a Good Omens short series will be coming out next year based on the book of the same name. Horror and sci-fi fans rejoice, because Black Mirror is expected to make a return next year as well. That is all from me and I hope I managed to make you excited for at least some of the upcoming series. Sources
