Editor in Chief I've always loved reading and writing, though like many people here, reading Harry Potter was one of the biggest contributors to making me an avid reader. Ever since then I've read pretty much any chance I have. I used to read lots of fanfiction; particularly Lord of the Rings fanfiction, which helped me hone my English skills which, believe it or not, weren't that great back then. From my choice of fandom you might guess that Tolkien and the world he created is one of my great interests as well, but I am by no means limited to these two fandoms: I love Game of Thrones, The Tortall Universe by Tamora Pierce, Robin Hood, Hunger Games, Divergent, and many other books.

I don't play many computer games, but I do very much enjoy The Sims, which I've played since Sims 1 came out, and through all four iterations of the game, and I still love to sit down and get lost in the lives of my sims. I also play the Sims Medieval. It's quite a different type of game, but I love the humor of it and the ability to develop your kingdom.
My greatest hobby outside of reading and HOL itself, is LARPing which actually started because of my interest in the vikings and their mythology. LARP stands for Live Action Role Play. I usually play in a viking setting, but have also played in various fantasy settings, and I am currently creating an elf-character for myself. The clothes I need for these characters are usually either prohibitively expensive or entirely impossible to buy, so I have come to rely on making my own costumes, which in turn has kindled a general interest in sewing and crafting in general. I sew, knit, cross stitch, embroider, make jewelry and a multitude of other things.

Rorey Padfoot
Editor Prof. Rorey Padfoot has been a part of HOL for 15 years now. During her student years she wrote for The Alte for several years. Now as a Eagle it only make sense for her to officially become staff.
