2019 is thought to be one of the biggest years for show business as many beloved TV shows return with new seasons, such as Game of Thrones, Black Mirror, The Orville, Star Trek: Discovery, Luther, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Stranger Things and others. Maxim Trevelyan Writer, Ravencla After Christmas and New Year, there is excited anticipation in the air, as most shows either return or premiere after winter holidays. 2019 is thought to be one of the biggest years for show business as many beloved TV shows return with new seasons, such as Game of Thrones, Black Mirror, The Orville, Star Trek: Discovery, Luther, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Stranger Things and others. However, in this article, I want to highlight some of the shows that will premiere in next year for the very first time.
I already mentioned Good Omens in a previous article. In this short, six part, series, David Tennant and Michael Sheen will take on roles of the demon Crowley and angel Aziraphale. They both work on Earth for their respective bosses, but have struck a tentative and unusual friendship. When Apocalypse is starting, Crowley and Aziraphale try to prevent it. I was surprised to learn that What We Do in the Shadows is returning as a TV show. You may remember the first mockumentary from Taika Waititi's (director of Thor: Ragnarok) about a group of vampires living as roommates in New Zealand. I will certainly wait for spring 2019, when it will come to FX. For the fans of The Witcher video games series (seriously, go play at least Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt), Netflix is making its own rendition of Geralt of Rivia's story. They will stick more to the novel canon than the game one, but they promise us a good story nonetheless. Henry Cavill stars as Geralt, a monster hunter in Medieval Poland (or a similar land), who tries to help common folk and nobility alike with their more supernatural problems. As a fan of the video games, I will check it out once the series comes out. Amidst the Great Marvel Show Cancellation, the hopes of the superhero genre's fans rise in Netflix's new adapted series, The Umbrella Academy, coming to the platform on February 15th 2019. After the surrogate father of super powered individuals dies, they come back together to investigate his death. The cast includes fantastic performers, such as Ellen Page, Mary J. Blige and Tom Hopper
