Parking his car in front of his best friend’s house, Chris practically jumped out and in a few great leaps, was already knocking on the front door. Maxim Trevelyan Writer, Ravenclaw “Move, idiot,” Chris honked at the car in front of him. “Don’t drive slower than a turtle on the fast lane,” he growled. The driver of the car seemed to get the idea and moved away, so Chris could overtake him and drive to his destination. He had been looking forward to this for the past week and darn him if he was going to be late.
At the end of his destination, Chris arrived to a nice, quiet looking suburbia, one you would see in the movies. He looked for the red brick façade and a white picket fence. “What a cliché,” Chris murmured to himself with fondness. He was glad that Lee made his dreams come true. He really was. Parking his car in front of his best friend’s house, Chris practically jumped out and in a few great leaps, was already knocking on the front door. After some moments, Lee opened the door with a huge smile on his face, practically dragging Chris inside, taking his coat. “You’re almost late. Come on now,” Lee said to Chris and slowly started to push him towards the sofa. “Let’s enjoy today like the Ancient Romans.” He flopped between the cushions and patted the place next to him. “Ancient Romans?” Chris asked, amused, but took the gesture as the invitation it was. “Yeah, we have bread,” Lee lifted the bowl of chips that was placed on the coffee table, gesturing with it at the TV screen, “and circuses.” He placed the bowl gently back onto the table, taking one of the root beers from it, cracked it open and handed it to Chris. Chris snorted, taking the drink. “I don’t think it works that way mate. I do hope the match will be great though.” “Hear, hear,” Lee clinked the bottle with Chris and settled in, planning to enjoy the soccer match with his friend.
