And the Weather Today Is...
“There’s a thunderstorm.”
“Don’t say that. Storms are horrible things that force us to stay inside on an otherwise nice day.”
“Well the dark sky and torrent of water say thunderstorm. You can’t just say ‘nice weather’ and expect to get a clear sky day, Padfoot. Some people actually like this weather.”
“Only hermits who like to stay indoors like this weather. Like you for instance.” The werewolf rolled his eyes as he moved away from the window.
“What makes you say I like this weather?”
“I don’t know, because you’re all nerdy and like to sit in the library all day.” The darker-haired teen sat down on his bed with a shrug.
“Just because I like the library doesn’t mean I like thunderstorms. They make my bones hurt and I don’t need that happening any more than it already does.” Sirius frowned at his friend. He hadn’t thought about a storm causing Remus physical pain.
“Do you need me to go get you something from Hospital Wing?” His friend shook his head and held up a bar of chocolate.
“Chocolate doesn’t fix everything Moony.”
“Sure it does. You just have to believe in the power of the chocolate.”
“Is Moony trying to convince you chocolate has healing powers again?” Sirius turned to grin at his best friend coming into the room.
“When is he not? Thought you had Quidditch practice.” James shook out his hair, causing it to stand up even more than normal.
“I did until we nearly drowned in the rain. I was going to get changed and see if Wormtil wanted to play Exploding Snap.” Remus shook his head and pointed to the empty bed.
“He’s in detention.” James glanced over at their missing marauders bed.
“Oh yeah. The Potions mishap. He really took one for the team.”
“Only because you pushed him Prongs.” The Gryffindor scratched his head in feigned ignorance.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about Moony. You must have seen wrong.”
“Unlikely. Remus has eyes like a hawk. He sees everything. Hears everything too. Can’t sneak anything passed this one.” The Black pointed at the prefect with his thumb. Remus rolled his eyes.
“Yet you always try. I’m going to the library.”
“To read books, drink tea, and eat chocolate? You know, like hermits who enjoy thunderstorms do.”
“Shut up Padfoot.” Though his back was to Sirius as he retreated down the stairs, he knew Remus was smiling.
