Last night, I went to the Three Broomsticks to have a little bit of fun after a stressful week at the end of the term. After having a few too many butterbeers, I stumbled back to Hogwarts castle and made my way down to the dungeons. I stormed through the dark underground hallway until I was in front of the entrance to Slytherin’s common room.
Clearly not in the right state of mind, I started yelling at the door in front of me, hoping that the dark stone wall would magically open and let me into the common room. I heard someone running down the hallway towards me but I continued yelling, even as I heard my friend Kyrie yell “What do you think you’re doing, Ashley?”
“You can’t just go storming into the Slytherin Common Room,” Kyrie lectured as she pulled me back towards the stairs. After dragging me up to Ravenclaw’s common room, me protesting the entire way, she pushed me towards my dormitory.
While lying in bed that night, I did a lot of thinking about my best friend, Kyrie. Thank goodness for my friendship with her because otherwise I would be making so many mistakes on a weekly basis that even a Time-Turner couldn’t help me solve all my problems.
My best friend is the source of my anger management. She is always there to listen to me when I need to complain about something or talk to someone about a problem to make myself feel better. What is even better is the fact that as great of a listener she is, she’s an even better advice giver. There have been so many times when I have been upset, mentally drained, or freaking out and she has always been there for me.
Thank you, Kyrie, for always being there for me.
