June was a very important month in Harry Potter history, as many events that surrounded the series happened during it. First of the notable occurrence happened on June 4th when Harry, Ron and Hermione went through the trapdoor guarded by Fluffy, thinking Severus Snape would steal the Sorcerer’s Stone. What they found was Professor Quirrell with Lord Voldemort on the back of his head trying to get his hands on the Sorcerer’s Stone. Harry Potter successfully prevents this.
Misummer is a time period during the month of June around summer solstice where several types of celebrations are taking place, most notably festivals, bonfires, feasting, singing and maypole dancing. They typically occur somewhere between June 19th and June 25th, although the specific date varies from culture to culture.
The Age of Discovery lasted from the beginning of the 15th century until the end of the 18th. During this time Europeans travelled far and wide, searching for lands that were until that point unknown to them. Most of these lands were of course already inhabited and as such were not new discoveries for the human race, but as they were unknown to the European explorers who found them, it was still an exciting time where much knowledge was gathered about the world which led to much more accurate and extensive maps than had previously been known.
